try the ones from Intel itself https://downloadcenter.intel.com/pr...4600-for-4th-Generation-Intel-Core-Processors

If you aren't allowed to install them, uninstall current graphics drivers for the intel card first - use this program http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

0.78Ghz would indicate idle state, and yes depending on what you are doing, how many cores are activated and so on. More info is needed, you want a specific answer - like what are you using to measure core speeds, and what the actual problem is :D.

I'm seriously going to break this ****computer into piece. Could anyone test please if they also have ridiculous tiny GUI in Adobe Flash when using Firefox? Adobe have released updates and everything "fixing high-DPI problems" but this one never gets fixed it seems. Skype for Windows also released and updated and it looks beautiful. Problem is that Adobe Flash is extremely tiny. I have asked before and I attach images to show you how it looks. Would be nice if anyone could just install Firefox to see if they have the same problem. This is the 4K version. Thank you

I mainly use frefox, and there does seem to be some trouble with dpi scaling on certain webpages. Chatroulette, amongst a few others, has been mentioned before - I dont of any specific fix for this atm, nor if it is firefox's or chatroulettes fault. Have you tried messing around with the text dpi scaling options, including the manual settings?

Okey cool to know that I'm not the only experiencing this in Firefox :) And thanks for the fast answer too. I have tried manually adjusting DPI, making some things look better. I'm so glad that developpers release fixes for this kind of issue. Since I've bought think computer, both Skype and Spotify are now completely neat and fine on this display.

well you just answered your own question :) - power saving state limits the cpu at 800 mHz, so when you unplug it your leaving power saving, probably to "balanced". What you do is right click your battery icon, choose power options, choose "balanced" or "high power state" - make sure you laptop is plugged in when you do this. - you can also go into advanced power options and do some tweaking just ask if it is :D

Awesome..Thank you for confirming.... I was looking at 4K model.. hopefully they should carry same build quality.... Just ordered it ... :) I currently have ROG GL552VW-DH71 and planning to swap this... Hope my decision is right ... both are similar spec... I got ROG for $900+, this is $1500 ... 4k display , SSD & touchscreen ...ofcourse form factor are the changes... but difference is close to $600... Hopefully this turns out to be the one I am looking for....

    Hi,

Whenever the laptop display shuts off and I come back to it, the monitor flickers (think like refresh rate problem). This is especially noticeable on white backgrounds. Any help would be appreciated! I have already tried reinstalling nvidia graphics drivers and intel graphics drivers.

Thanks for replying. I'm currently trying to get the problem again, but I'm noticing that I get the flickering less frequently. It does not happen every time the monitor turns off. I will report back when it does happen again.

Hi. I'm thinking of buying this laptop. I know some other ZenBook models had a lot of problems with loose hinges - does this one have similar problems?
Another question - does it become hot and/or are the fans loud?

    Hello,

When I have a black screen (begining of a movie for example), I have a little yellow spot on the left corner of my screen. It's an effect of the brighness (when I put the brightness to the minimum I seen nothing).

Do you also have that ?

I attach a picture but it is difficult to see it correctly.

    Thanks

It's light bleed from slight pressure of the bezel of the display, IPS panels are sensitive to it.

I'm not quite sure about what you mean, when talking about external graphics - but I do use my laptop with its miniDp quite often, and have done for a long time now (thunderbolt connections in propper screens are rare), my connection works flawlessly at 144hz and graphics function as normal- would be better without the throttle though :D

I'm guessing not many have yet bought the skylake versions - but I wouldn't be surprised if the panel is the same.

As far as I can tell that is not yet released - but it looks awesome, and would deferently buy it if it were available :) there are many problems with external graphic adapters - namely speeds through connectors and the amount of colaborators in the process.

Thunderbolt 2 offers enough speed for High Graphics gaming. Thunderbolt 3 however is on another level. It offers much more speed than PCIE can deliver.

If this notebook has thunderbolt, it's thunderbolt 2. External graphics solutions for macbooks have been available for some time now. look them up on youtube. The graphics with those work excellent. They are all connected via thunderbolt 2. There are also DIY solutions available.

It does have a thunderbolt 2 connector, but again I have yet to see any external solutions, for windows based laptops- not that I've been looking alot, but the only thing that comes to mind was a Sony vaio solution or ofc DYI - but that might prove more difficult than one could expect. Thunderbolt 3 already has several external graphic solutions expected - but one has to wait. I'm not quite sure what the problems are in general, but it does seem that it is not as easy as one might think, as several producers have tried with a solution for this issue.

    Hi folks
I've just returned my second(!) new HP Envy (due to quality and support issues), and after lots of research have decided to go for the UX501 instead. It's significantly more expensive, but looks like it's worth the investment. I'd appreciate it if you could help confirm my understanding on a number of points, based on what I've read on this forum:
    1. Am I right in saying that the models are currently being refreshed - most significantly by bumping the CPUs to Skylake ones? (I am UK-based, and it looks like the versions over here are still the UX501JW models with the i7-4720HQ Haswell)
    2. Based on the Haswell version, it looks like Asus marketed a fairly different configuration in the US compared to Europe. Broadly speaking the US got a 4k touch screen, a larger SSD (512GB) and larger 6-cell 95Wh battery but at the expense of the HDD - whilst Europe got a 1TB HDD but a smaller 256GB SDD, a smaller 4-cell battery, along with a non-touch screen (in FHD or 4k).
      Is that right, broadly speaking?
    3. Have the European/UK specs for the Skylake refresh been announced yet? (I really like the idea of the HDD in addition to an SSD, and don't mind about a smaller battery)
    Thank for your help.

hy i have just bought the new (skylake) version with thunderbolt 3 (usb-c 3.1) in belgium, over here they are released a bit later most of the time because we use azerty so i find it weird that you havn't been able to find one

    1 model is ux501vw with 6700HQ
    2 my config= 512gb ssd, 4k touch panel, no hdd, thunderbolt 3 (usb-c 3.1), 8GB ram
3 i went for bigger battery because 512gb is enough for me, i use an external hdd for long term storage anyway
