    Hi,

I have an Asus UX501VW Zenbook Pro model purchased in Malaysia in March 2016 with a max supported RAM of 16GB as per Asus.

I have seen the video below where the RAM is upgraded to 24GB (1x8GB onboard, and 1x16GB module added).

I had been in touch with Asus regarding this and they said they cannot recommend beyond the specifications.

My question is how do I know if my RAM upgrade will be supported by the laptop. Has anyone with the same model upgraded beyond 16GB.

The laptop warranty is expired, and my question is about UX501VW and NOT UX501JW.

    Thank You

    Hi,

If you are still wondering what RAM works, I am using a stick of Kingston ValueRAM 16GB 2133Mhz DDR4 KVR21S15D8/16 for a total of 24GB. Although maybe a 32GB stick could be put there instead for a total of 40GB if anyone has tried that? Apparently some websites online claim it can be done.
