OK, It was in service, without an OS, and they tell you its all fine Sounds like a script to me..
Many others, myself included, have done the clean install using the recommended 64bit W7HP or greater. No problems. I used the included driver DVD so know that works.
So, you have possible corrupted images, or a possible hardware error. I would have to search for your repeated error 39(?) but think I saw it come up many threads ago.
Anyone know the error code?

I have not seen one valid, including my own, test to see if my trashed up registry is any faster from before to after.
Now, I do use free ones to help weed out remains of stupid or malicious programers.. Plus, we will always need a registry EDITOR.
There is a hilarious thread in the W7 forums over need for W7 cleaners. The thread was closed when it got a bit pissy.. -

Hey Mrrudzin, after reading every post considering your problem, I can only think of 1 more thing. It's a long shot, but it might just work.
Remove your nVidia drivers, clean them off. After that go to control panel -> language settings -> Region and language. Now select last tab, it's called "Administrative" in English and change "Language for non-Unicode programs" to English.
Now install your drivers. Installations should be in English language now, not Polish (if I guessed that right ). Go on with it and report results. Make sure to reboot between major steps.
Again, it's a long shot. It should not work in theory, but who knows -.- -

Ding!
Today I came out of sleep and like many others..no video switching.
After reading other post, I would go into sleep, wake up and no problems. Today, it dawned on my tiny mind that it was after extended sleep, 1 hour(?) or more that it fails. The only way I can get switching back is to shutdown, not restart, found so far.
I'm using the P4g hybrid 1.25 like many others and have not tried any others.
Buggy or not I may try newest just to see what changes.. -
Haven't thought of an anti-glare screen protector. I usually work indoors with non florescent lights so the glossy screen doesn't really bother me at all. -
-
Now on the alert I put to overnight sleep while in usinig nVidia, and it worked! So it failed, so far, while long term sleeping on intel. hmm, more checks to go...and it failed on the nVidia side as well! Some how I would be very surprised if Asus has a fix.. -
I am having a bit of LAN issue..
I seem to lose internet connection after a reset.. and have to uninstall the Atheros driver through device manager. after a rest it seems to automatically install the driver again and it's all good to go.. but it's really annoying.. anyone else with the same issue?
had to disable the wireless as well as it seems to cause some sort of conflict.
-
Mine just came in from Amazon. Looking forward to the education I'll get from all the knowledge here.
-
-
What's the easiest way to tell if has more then 1 antenna?
-
-
-
-
reset as in restart.. I should have said restart..
yeah the guy that was installing the ADSL or whatever they have here told me there's a conflict between wirelss and lan.. and had to disable it.
Yeah, everytime I restart my computer I have to uninstall the driver and restart again then it connects fine. It's probably something very small no doubt.. but not sure what..
I will load up the latest driver, thought the one I had was the latest so.
meh.
thanks -
A lot of these cable/phone guys are just off the street temps. Are u using AT&T or cable company?
AT&T has major problems, so bad I'm in litigation for switching out my cable phone for World net..without permission! -
1) remove the HDD cover
2) towards the "front" of the laptop, an edge of the wireless card is visible. You should see either one or two wires coming out of it (black, white). If you have two wires, you have two antennas. One wire is one antenna. -
Also, has anyone added extra antennas to the A1? If so, i want to see how and where they routed the two new antennas.
To Hydra: you also did the intel 6300 mod, how did you route the two new antennas? -
Also, I do not have any squeaks or pops in the case. There is slight keyboard flex but just a hint. Also realized, that unlike my netbook, which is white, this keyboard is hard to see setting in my den at night. The backlit would have been nice.
I did notice some rough edges around the screen cover and some sharp edges at the bottom of the hinge. When it sits on your lap, the sharp edges dig into your skin a bit.
The screen does have the bad viewing angles. Not something I can't get use to but the compromises are adding up.
Not a big deal but I can tell you my Samsung netbook seems to be built better. Much better screen, matte, with good viewing angles. No rough edges, etc.
I did, however, use it for like 3 hrs straight yesterday and the battery still said 6 hrs left, and I had screen near middle with Intel graphics, no power boost, but had wifi, and bluetooth on. That's impressive.
Wow, I thought everyone was kidding in regards to the amount of bloatware!!!! I've never seen so much on a unit. -
I recommend buying an anti-glare screen protector. I'll post some pics and the link to the one I bought from ebay. I have a matte screen from a MBP 15 and the migration to the glossy was just terrible. With the new anti-glare it doesn't bother me anymore. i've noticed that the viewing angles has improved with just an naked eye test.
On another note: does anyone know where to get the proper synaptics drivers for the touchpad. ELAN isn't working out for me. I've downloaded the original ones from the synaptics site but it doesn't have any of the multitouch gestures. -
goonx,
Does the antiglare protector change the sharpness of the words on the screen at all? My wife has an iPhone antiglare and it makes everything blurry. -
As before card performance is close with the Intel having slightly better performance on most G routers. On highest speed N routers, Intel rules until Atheros updates card.
David said he ran two for three total to the screen, another A1 owner. -
Hi, I tried to read the owner lounge but was too big, is there a list of games that can be played with the ul30vt?
-
http://forum.notebookreview.com/com...-ultimate-n-6300-advanced-wireless-cards.html -
You are right - comunicates are in Polish You guess or use google ? -
Just in case anyone missed the thread, I posted the disassembly guide here:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus/484260-asus-ul30vt-notebook-disassembly-guide.html
There were too many people asking me for clarification on my disassembly instructions, so I thought it would be easier to just post it -
Mine also had a small area with a sharp edge on the right side palmrest. I fixed it by simply using a large finger nail file placed perpendicular to the edge and gently sanded it down. Be careful, it doesnt take much. I was able to sand down the rough edge in just a few strokes. When finished, gently buff the sanded edge with a cloth dampened with some car wax. If you do it carefully, you wont even be able to see where you sanded it down and the sharp edge will be gone!
BTW My UL80vt is still working great on the 197.16 modded drivers. No problems what so ever. Also wanted to thank you for the link to the latest Elan touchpad drivers Itaru! ELANTECH Drivers -
I'm Slovenian so I know a thing or two about Slavic languages. Plus I learned a lot from MP games (mostly swear words tho) -
There is a light in tunell - user from another (polish) forum has send me 4DVD which include image of recovery partition (done by AI recovery). -
Thanks for posting BTW.. -
EDIT: Link now posted on bottom of disassembly thread -
-
Were you able to put the skin on without trapping any air bubbles? -
-
Glad it wasn't too much of a problem for you -
I'll post my anti-glare screen protector once i have more time. -
I'm still interested in see that screen protector.

Well after stalking the internet (these forums included) for the past couple of months in search of the ultra-portable that was "just right" for me...alternating between the UL30 or 80VT, waiting on the UL30 or 80JT, waiting on the Acer Timeline X 3820 or 4820, as well as considering the HP Envy 14...I have finally decided to purchase the UL30VT.
At this point I am most excited just to have made a decision...seeing as towards the end of this decision making process I didn't even know if I needed a DVD drive or not anymore...
But the price on this UL30VT-A1 I just could not pass up. After Bing Cashback I got it for $590 shipped off of Ebay. Granted it is factory refurbished, so it is only eligible for the 90 day parts and labor warranty from Asus, but I feel it was a great deal.
Anyways, glad to join the ranks of you other (hopefully happy) UL30VT owners! -
Yea I just got the UL30VT-A1 over the U30JC. Couldn't wait for the UL30JC and definitely not for the silver version. Hopefully everything goes well!
-
Erh, kind of random question that doesn't fit here well, but.
When using the integrated intel card, it automatically switches to 16 bit colors. This isn't really the problem. Transparency effects turn off as well. Then everything is stuck in the light blue windows color. Is there anyway to change it? -
Hey guys, just got myself a UL30VT (coming from a Dell Studio XPS 13). I'm a little confused about the model numbers. Mine reads as UL30VTURBO-QX048X. Is that an X1 or A1 model? (It's black btw, and it comes with the 8-cell battery)
EDIT: actually nvm, I found my answer on another forum: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=1324599&p=57#r1135 -
Which Power4Gear Hybrid is the newest released? According to the Asus Website there is a v1.1.35 that was released on 4/27/2010. As well as a v1.1.29 that was released on 5/11/10.
Which is the newest? And has anyone tried out the newest release to see if there were any fixes? -
well I just tried out 1.1.29 last night, my observations:
a) hardware switch at top left of pc - this cycles between "power save", "auto detect" and "high performance" modes. Though it does not always work... sometimes no prompts come up, sometimes it does switch but it is delayed.
b) the turbo function is off, and I can't turn it on.
c) using the Power4gears GUI, there are the usual 4 power management profiles... but as per every single other updated P4G version, you cannot switch from integrated to discrete graphics card via the GUI. You need to use the switch on the pc instead.
So all in all v.1.1.29 gets the big thumbs down from me. -
I just bought the UL30VT, so I have been downloading all of the drivers and such so that I am ready for a clean install when it gets here in a couple of days.
I guess I will just stick with the recommended Power4Gear v1.1.25 when I get my laptop. -
Can anyone tell me about the upgradeability of the UL30vt processor ? whats the best compatible processor out there for it ? Would my older Asus G1's CPU be better for it (core 2 duo @ 2.0 GHZ) ?
I dont exactly care about battery power.
EDIT: ARGH !! just had a look at this thread :
http://forum.notebookreview.com/har...ble-update-i7-620m-su7400-my-asus-ul30vt.html
Didnt think the CPU would be soldered in. So how much longer till we get the UL30JT?
I keep hearing about it but i see people have been waiting for it the whole year ! And im not sure if it will be within my budget... -
I was just wondering, I did a battery test a coupe of days ago and got 8.5 hours, just wondering if there is a difference in battery life under battery savings mode if i opt to turn on turbo or not

Regarding Power4Gear Hybrid
The various versions of P4G Hybrid are designed for specific Asus notebook models. As is noted in many other places in the forums, using a version not specificially designed for your particular notebook model will usually result in less than optimum performance.
So, to avoid problems use ONLY the version of P4G designed for your particular Asus notebook (go to your particular model's download page on the Asus website and look under "utilities").
As of today the latest versions for systems with Win 7 64 are:
UL30vt: 1.1.31
UL80vt: 1.1.25
Of course feel free to try any version you wish, but if you have problems, you can fix them by going back to the version specifically created for your particular notebook-just completely uninstall your prior version 1st. -
Great price for the UL30VT. You should probably get a squaretrade accidental 3-year warranty for $200. The squaretrade warranty repairs your computer even if you drop it. It'll cover all your bases if your refurb does fail after the 90 days.
