Does anyone have a U45JC with an i5 processor in it? If so where did you get it? I can't find one anywhere. All I can find is the i3.

Hi, does anybody know how to milk out the 8 hours of battery life on this notebook? I've been using the Power4Gear Battery Saving mode and the super hybrid engine on a fully charged battery, but it only gives me 4.5 hours max battery life. What settings are you guys using to get the 8 horus of battery life out of this thing?

    - Check if Nvidia is > Global Settings > Integrated Graphics.
    - Use CPU-Z to verify if the CPU down clocks. to at least 1,00Ghz
    - Reduce Windows Services.
    - Use Windows Classic theme.

This worked for me. I even start with 10 hours then quickly average 6/7 hours.

Hope this gets you some results.

Yeah, I've been having the same problem. Got this laptop in August of 2010, random bluescreens, wifi disconnects and insane overheating, especially if I'm running games. Also, I noticed right before it bluescreens, the fan gets really loud although the temperature seems to be okay.
Same problem with you though, cant return it, need it for university and I cant send it back to Asia....

Reformatted, and everything seems to be updated and okay. Literally out of ideas.

My laptop has been going really slow the past few months. And ever since I bought it it periodically locks up whilst playing music, which makes for a very jarring sound. I haven't done much with it other than using Chrome, word documents, etc. Haven't played any games on it. Shouldn't be this slow. Any suggestions?

UPDATE: I figured out whats causing the jarring sound and occasional bluescreens. The wireless network adapter is semi-screwed up. I think its a driver issue but absolutely no idea. Right now, the best solution is to completely disable the wireless card (turning off the wireless wont work, you need to completely shut down the wireless card) if you can and the bluescreen/jarring noise will go away.
