My Asus N73JN-X1 just arrived :) and I know I am at least the third poster here to have one, so I thought it was time there was an Owner's Lounge!

I will update this post with important information, links to other posts, etc., if necessary. In the meantime, here are some links, specs and pics:

It took a while ... there was an initial SNAFU with processing my order. My shipping address was different from my billing address, but I didn't know that newegg required the shipping address to be confirmed by the credit card company. Other purchases I have made from online vendors have not required this. Anyway, I straightened everything out with my CC company and with newegg, but it took two days for my order status to go from "processing" to "charged" (i.e. credit card has been charged). That said, shipping time was only two days - I'm certainly not complaining about that!

I've taken it out of the box to have a look, but I'm going to wait until tonight to charge it up and start messing around. So far, though, I think it looks beautiful. I was initially sceptical about the brushed metal cover when I saw the pictures online, but it looks much nicer IRL. Actually, it's so beautiful, I almost don't want to touch it.

I can't wait to get this up and running ... I will update with more thoughts/review once I've had some quality alone time with it! :D

have you tried any high end gaming on this laptop? I tried playing L4D2 and ffxiv beta on this and it wasn't very positive. I wish I can find out for sure which graphic card the program is using. I'm having difficulty believing that nvidia 335m has such a poor performance.

Does that qualify as high end? :p

Running SC2 on the stock driver had my system using the onboard graphics rather than the 335m - and consequentially, SC2 recommending low settings at 1280x780 (or maybe 1360x768, I forget). This has been reported by other users. By updating to the 8.17.12.5741 Nvidia driver on the Asus website, SC2 recognized the card and I am able to play on ultra settings at 1600x900.

Point is, have you tried updating the Nvidia driver?

what kind of battery life are you guys getting? I was considering this or the n82jv (the n53 is taking way too long to reach the US)

To be honest, I haven't used the battery yet ... I'm told up to three hours, but I can't say from experience. I may get the chance this weekend to test out the battery, and I'll let you know.
