Can't wait to see the pics and reviews! I'm a proud owner of the UX550VE even though it's widely scrutinized, I love this laptop. I want to do some custom work by adding vents in the side (which ASUS seemingly forgot to do...) and repasting + adding some thermal pads to disperse heat to the metal base plate. It is a project that may have to wait until the warranty is up though, haha. The coil whine on my machine only happens when I open a demanding game for the first couple of minutes and then goes away, so I can deal with that. There is substantial thermal throttling in stress testing and real-life applications like gaming. It isn't a gaming laptop though but people seem to expect it to be. It does run games quite well, just at 60hz after gaming at 144hz for so long I can't help but feel the sluggishness of 60FPS. That being said I wanted a versatile laptop that had long battery life, ultra-portability and ability to run games on the road when I'm travelling. It has stood up to that test but I can't wait to see how your new laptop performs! I might have to sell this one and buy one!

What are the noise levels, fan speeds, coil whine for light tasks like browsing?
Is there any Fan Control software for this model?

So finally the PC has arrived collect it on Saturday and today got to return it back :(
It coil whine so badly that is unbearable. Shop and Asus apologized and said replacement will be ready by next Saturday, as token they will give me a free GO Pro Hero.

    From first impression:

    Screen is absolutely fantastic.

The deep blue color and the finishing in general is very nice but will be for sure a magnet for finger prints.

Screen Pad work fine as a "pad" but I did not managed to use it in extend screen mode, to be more precise it required the build 1803 of WIN10 before the option to activate it will even appear, with the build 1709 the only option were screen pad or traditional pad.
Once updated the option appear but I did not understand how to transfer the window to the screen pad, if anyone as a suggestion they are welcome. By they way the coil whine noise come from near the screen pad.

Keyboard sucks, keys are positioned in a funny way and will take time to get use to it.

    Finger print reader works fine

Sound looks ok but require more testing.

This is as much I have managed after that asus asked me to factory reset it and don't use it any more and return it to them asap.

I hope was just a case of bad luck and the new one will be ok.

Give us a full eval when you get the new one. I too hope the coil whine is not as bad for you.

    Hello everybody,
Can someone upload eSupport folder for this model - UX580GD.
I performed a clean install of Win 10, and because this is my first Asus notebook I deleted the drivers folder.
    Thanks in advance!
