Anyone knows when they'll be available in USA? I heard it'll be by next month. But I was hoping for more info.

    Cheers :)

Thanks for the find! Never heard of the 9400M GS. Could be a mistake. Hope someone here can do a quick review. I would love to see how much it has improved over the U6Sg-A1 model.

Not a mistake on the gpu for the U6v; the montevina updates all switch to the 9xxx series gpu. Functionally it's roughly the equivalent to the 8400m GS I believe, with slight improvements on benchmark scores. Bigger shift for the -v model is the bump in cpu and chipset specs.

I haven't found any specifications for the 9400M. The only info I found on the 9400M is that it should be equivalent to the 9300M GS combined with the 9100M motherboard GPU via GeForce Boost.

    http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_9300m_gs.html

    Edit:
I found this list on the GeForce 9 series: http://www.pcgameshardware.com/aid,646011/News/Nvidia_Refresh_of_the_Geforce_9_mobile_series/

    Geforce 9500M G - #of shader ALUs=16, Gigaflops=60
    Geforce 9400M - #of shader ALUs=8, Gigaflops=40-50
    Geforce 9300M GS - #of shader ALUs=8, Gigaflops=34

We probably can expect a significant improvement over the 9300. The 9400 might be like a 'GT' version of the 9300.

oh eSATA, drool. Hope they will eventually recall my U6S soon since it has 8400M card. When are they going to announce a recall since almost or all of the 8400M and 8600M chips are defective.

nVidia change name, it was suppose to be 9400M GS but they change the name back to 9300M GS, if use Asus driver it'll say 9300M GS, but if install drivers from laptopvideo2go.com it'll show it's a 9400M GS, even the name got changed back to 9300M GS but the GPU core is now 580MHz:

Thanks a bunch Ken! Would you be able to do a quick review of the U6v? Or perhaps some benchmarks?

Whenever you get the chance. It's greatly appreciated!

GPU temperature around 61~62*C during benchmarking.

Have not yet test the battery life.
