Afternoon all, I need to know if anyone has flashed the ~VBios~ of the Sager NP2098? It's video card is the ATi Mobility HD 4650. I have tried to install updated drivers past ATI's 8.7set. They will not take, the CCC updates with the new interface etc etc.. will, but not the driver packaging.
I had the same issue on my larger ASUS G73jh beast and found, here I think, that I had to flash the ~VBios~ which I did and the update took just fine. I guess what I need to know, is flashing this Sager NP2098 ~VBios~ done pretty much they same was as I did the G73jh?

This would probably do better in the Sager forum.

this question is in the sager thread as we cannot tell him nothing about it
if his card is problematic and Sager has released vbios to fix the issues he is having then flash it
and as far as for your question installing new drivers was available with the stock vbios too just there are more chances that you will get GSODs
so maybe sometting get messed up with the ati catalyst package which can be a big problem (didn't happened to me never)
try cleaning registries , driver sweeping , system restore and at the end reinstall -
I appreciate the replies and I can understand the rules regarding double posting. However, I was getting only looks from the other area and here in this one someone answered with-in 36 hours. More traffic, therefore more chances of someone actually helping me find out whether or not I can flash my ATI 4650 Mobility card the same way I flashed my ATI 5870 Mobility card on my larger G73jh laptop, using the same files I downloaded from the GSOD area of this particular forum.
It was never my intention to rise the ire of anyone by wasting a few kb of space on your forums server. Anyway, thanks again for at least replying.

It looks like you didn't get any help from anyone. You seem to have emptied your post in the sager section, which confuses me.
Anyway, is there a VBIOS update for your sager available? I am not sure what the exact problem is here. -
actuallly i would done the same like you ... start a thread here becouse i find the ASUS users more friendly... (hopefully i won't get kicked from some administrator
i started a couple of threads in the dell and hp forum but they are just looking and not answering (don't know what is their problem) -
"I'm not trying to start anything", but your post demonstrates that good intentions trump common sense. And the fact the *only* reason you commented was to tell me how I'm rude does negate the "Don't mean to start anything". Because ... well, obviously you did.
Now, it doesn't appear he's got any help here EITHER, that's too bad. I can't even begin to help him answer his question, because the OP hasn't specified which type of vbios he wants to update, just the target machine. -
@DCx: what are you, the TOS Gestapo?
