I was wondering what kind of boot times people are getting with their ASUS G75VW laptops. I am going to be getting one soon and putting an SSD into it but I don't know which one would be best for getting the lowest boot times so please let me know what your boo time is and the drives that you are using. Thanks :)

Same boat as you but I have had my G75 for a few days. I just ordered a OCZ vertex 4 512gb. I was going to go all out and buy 2 and try Raid 0 but after reading about it sounds like it would be slower and more problems. It boots pretty darn quick even off the stock hard drives. Any SSD in your budget will be blistering quick. I just lost a pretty new Samsung gamer 7 and replaced it with the G75. Samsung was painfully slow even with one of the fastest SSD's out there and took 2 or 3 seconds for the screen to turn on after opening the lid.

You will notice next to no difference in boot times between SATA III SSDs, the difference will be mere seconds, likely 1 to 2.

Do you happen to know if the ASUS G75VW has an accessible mSATA port? I have a 120GB Mushkin Atlas SATA III mSATA SSD just collecting dust and I would really like to use it if possible. I was originally going to get the MSI GT70 to run two mSATA SSDs in Super Raid 0 but I decided on the ASUS G75VW instead.

    *crosses fingers*

MSI is junk that will break fast. Very good performance but the build quality is the worst. I am putting a better screen in my G75 and 3 Vertex4 512gb ssd's. One in a hard drive caddy instead of the optical drive.

Do you know if the ASUS G75VW has an accessible mSATA port? I think I remember reading that it has one under the keyboard but it voids the warranty getting to it. Please let me know :)
