Hi all - I presume that the mouse that came with my G73JH was manufactured by Razer. Is that accurate? Did anyone actually get software with the mouse (it is actually pictured in Asus' documentation but not installed and not on the driver disk)?

I am actually going to use the mouse with my desktop. I can't find a Razer mouse that matches this one and was going to download software from Razer.

Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks!

Okay - I see that it is the same as the HP Voodoo Gaming mouse and, as another user posted, the software that is downloadable from HP does not detect the mouse as being an HP Voodoo Gaming mouse and will not control the mouse settings.

Did anyone get software from Asus for the mouse or figure out a way of getting the HP software working?

    Thanks again!

The software for the Asus ROG mouse is now on the Asus support site, once you get to the G73JH downloads page you'll see it under the USB category.

does the software work for you?
it doesnt seem to work for me, installed it then it won't run from the start menu link. it ran from the exe in the program files folder though, then it wouldnt detect the mouse and whatever changes i made didnt make any difference...

Works fine here. I wound up using it on my desktop and bought a Logitech MX Anywhere mouse for the G73.

It ran fine for me when I tried it, having said that I never actually run it since I have no need for different profiles, I just switch the DPI using the button on the mouse.

Can you just use Razer's vanilla copperhead drivers?

The mouse that I received (and the OP I believe) is not a Razor. It is physically identical to HP's Laser Gaming Mouse with Voodoo DNA. As posted above, the HP drivers will not work with it, but the correct drivers are on the ASUS site, as stated above.

The only thing to like about this mouse IMHO is that it visually matches the G73. It doesn't have a tilt wheel and the wheel button on mine seems overly sensitive. But I already gave my Logitech G500 to my wife. :(

A link to the site for the ROG mouse at ASUS would be a nice touch. I see I'm not the only one searching for the proper software for this mouse. Having a clue on how to put it to work would be a big plus!

Update: Being the persistent individual I am I went and found the link that will set you guys on the proper software for the ROG Laser Gaming Mouse that shipped with your ASUS G73jh model laptops. Yes, it's free and you'll find it at:

I have that same mouse but I got it straight from HP. I've never needed a driver. Windows 7 installs it just fine, then when you run Windows Update it gets the latest from there. Is the Asus mouse so different that Windows Update doesn't recongnize it either?

I assume you are using windows 7 64bit. If you are, this link will take you to the correct page for the mouse software download. Go to the USB dropdown menu and you will find it. (I am again assuming you want the software for the HP Voodoo OEM Mouse).

For all you got the Razer Abyssus OEM mouse, I am sorry i dont know where to get that.
I got the HP Voodoo OEM mouse with my G73.

Feel free to ask for anything else that i can help with. :)

Wait, what? You're unable to go to support.asus.com and browse to the USB section of the g73 downloads? Asus doesn't make linking to specific drivers easy. But you'd know that if you tried to do it yourself.

Edit: D'oh! Didn't see the other posters pointing out the same thing. :) Nothing to see here, folks...
