I opened my G73 to find that whenever i press the Fn+<F1-F12,etc>, there isnt the 3d animation anymore and replaced with a box displaying in the top left. Is there any way to get back the animating one? Is it somekind of Asus Program?

    Its been replaced with this:

Id want the old one back.

    Any advice?

Try to reinstall the ATKOSD2 package, that program gives you the 3D animation of you use your Fn key combinations.

Isnt there any other way? I tried installing the ATK package in the Driver Disk but a "Please Insert Disc" prompt keeps popping up.

Are you sure you didn't just stop the service? I would check your services and msconfig to see if you manually have it stopped.

I kinda like the simple one. Whenever I'm playing games and I accidentally or intentioanlly use a Fn+whatever combo, it shows up and lags the game a bit and some other interferences. I mean if the 3d one was moved to the corner, I would like it. Must be personal taste though.

Make sure ATKOSD2.exe and HControlUser.exe is running.

Try downloading the ATKOSD2 utility from the Asus website instead of using your driver disk.
