... but everything seems to be working fine, only the backlight under the keyboard seem to be missing one or two leds now...
does anyone know if I can replace the leds just by pulling out the keys, or does the whole keyboard need to be removed?

    Just asking
    How did you spill it?
Not sure about it. Try googling it.

i just thought the classy macbook would enjoy a great glass of wine. It has a great perfume to it now, everytime I open the case I smell vineyards.

    ???? I hope it wasn't Australian!
The MBP is a bit snobbish and prefers French, but also has a sweet spot fr Californian wines (seeing as the MBP has roots there)....

As for the problem, you can find instructions for taking the machine apart. You probably won't be able to fix the problem but you'll see in the instructions whether the LEDs are part of the keyboard unit itself (as I seem to remember). If so, then it's a pretty easy replacement, but would cost a complete new keyboard.

The backlighting is REALLY nice and extremely cool when your Win (or wine) friends come over, but not really that important, eh?

you're right I made my decision: screw the backlight, after all I ll be the only one with a french wine perfumed mbp so I'm keeping it that way!

Nice decision. If you look on the positive outlook, at least your keyboard didn't break, and more importantly, the wine didn't sink in a harm any serious components (CPU/GPU/etc)
