Hi everyone im new to the forums and ive been a windows user ever since i first touched a computer. Any how im thinking of switching to the mbp since ive read and seen so many of your reviews and its so sexy!.

on further note, I was wondering if you guys know the performance difference between the x1600 256mb vs 8600gt 128mb..I know the 8600gt is faster then the radeon if compared with same video memory, but how about the 128mb???

its still faster. the amount of video memory has minimal impact on performance.

yep. actually i might want to add that the 128 meg 8600m gt has somewhat lower performance compared to the 256 meg version.

how much is sort of uncertain, but the affect seems to be amplified in higher resolutions.

either way- both 8600m's are going to outperform the x1600 by a wide margin. good luck.
