so tomorrow my 320 gb hd comes in the mail, and i really dont want to set up my mac again so hes my idea tell me if it would work

put new hd in an external enclusure, and make 2 partitions

use timemachine to backup my system now on 1 of the partitions

put new hd in my mac,

use leopard disk to restore from time machine image

than erase second partition or resize it for use with bootcamp

i guess my questions is can i resize the hd easily on a mac, and do u think theres an easyer way

There is an easier way. Grab a copy of Carbon Copy Cloner from here (it's free). Stick your new hdd in some kinda external enclosure, start up CCC, and go to sleep. Swap the drives when you wake up, and that's all there is to it. I did this just a few weeks ago.
