I know there is now Windows office for Macs. For some purposes I like to use Wordperfect, which of course does not exist for Macs. But for Word's monopoly powers I would onlu use WP. The one time I still use WP is when I scan a document and convert it to wordprocessing. Word wreaks havoc with the formatting. In WP I can do "reveal codes" and clean the formatting up. Does anyone know if Mac's wordprocessing program or an open source system would allow me to do that? I can, of course, always load Windows 7 on the Mac and then use WP, but it would be nice to skip that step.

You can use Windows office for Mac or any version of office and "reveal the code". All you do is edit the document in draft mode or web mode which allows you to edit all the formatting easily.
