use iChat for video chat with those on AIM.

User Remote Desktop Client from Microsoft for connecting to Windows machines. OS X has a built in feature that lets you remote connect to other OS X machines.

I don't see any reason you'll NEED XP on there for now. You can install it via boot camp at any point (assuming you'll have Leopard).

Right... your MacBook comes with BootCamp, but if you're sticking with simple tasks, I don't see why you would NEED it.

I don't have Windows installed on my MacBook.

You can video chat with iChat. It supports AIM accounts. iChat video chatting is really nicely implemented, if you ask me.

I don't have Windows installed on my MacBook either, AuroraS :p.

I don't think you'll need Windows on your Mac. It seems the tasks you do can all be done in OS X.

Nor do I. I have Windows machines, but even on them I use Linux. I don't even really dislike MS or Windows; I just don't like all the necessary software and effort required to keep the machine clean and running properly. You just can't survive with Windows and not have AV, antispyware apps, rootkits, perform constant scans, etc, etc.

About the router and wireless: When I bought my MBP and brought it home, it may have taken ten minutes from the time it came out of the box until I was online wirelessly. IMO, a much simpler procedure than with a Windows machine because it's almost completely automatic, and if I can do it, anyone else can easily! :D
