I would expect Apple to take advantage of any significant new lower power consumption chipset in a design as sensitive to heat as the 'Air.

I would think so because, it was kinda weird that that they released the MBA on a 65nm core, and then the 45nm core came out so soon afterwards and is a much cooler chip.

maybe but the air doesnt have a standard 65nm chip in it either. They shrunk it down quite a bit for the application. Something they may not be able to do with 45nm right away.

I don't see why they would pass up the chance to put the new 45nm C2D's in it. It will only save even more power. Wich is one of the things the laptops markets. I imagine they have, but thats it. I Don't think anything else will happen. Definitely not a visual change for a long while.

Well, they were involved with the development of the CPU, but it's not exclusive to the Macbook Air. I think it will certainly be updated to Montevina, but probably not for a few months (at least) after the general Montevina release.
