i started thinking about this today and i want some more thoughts and opinions on it. the iphone has a camera, so why didnt they put one on the touch? sure it would be thicker, but they oughta make it thicker anyway to put a bigger hard drive in it.

Because cameras in MP3 player are still gimmicks. You'll either end up with a crappy camera or a crappy mp3-player. Size is very importand, and a camera lens adds volume.

Well i'm not so sure how music, and taking pictures have much correlation but i think the ipod is fine as juts being a music player. Having a bigger HD is a whole nother piece of cake. Also, just think of the Gameboy camera, what did it accomplish, how many were sold.

Because it'd be more like the iPhone rather than the iPod Touch.

If so, then IMO Apple is overdoing their product differentiation a bit. (Wouldn't be the first time I've felt that way though.) The phone capability and the cellular wireless are already enough differentiation. Not to mention the classier chrome trim on the iPhone. I don't see why they really need more than that.

I don't think iPods need cameras yet...they're at heart a music player (the Touch starts heading towards "PDA", but yeah). If you really want everything in one device, that's what Apple introduced the iPhone for :p.

Yeah, there's a carrier in Canada called Fido :p. Their mascot is a dog, as you may have guessed ;).

The major carriers in Canada are Rogers Wireless (which would be the iPhone's carrier, when it comes to Canada), TELUS, Bell Mobility and Fido. These are the big carriers.

We're in Afghanistan right now, actually, helping stabilize. In the process, over 70 Canadian soldiers have died. Now it might not seem a lot compared to American deaths in Iraq, but this number of Canadian deaths hasn't been this high since the Korean War back in the '50s. And considering the much lower amount of total forces, the 70 deaths are actually a higher 'percentage' of the entire force than the few thousand Americans that died in Iraq.
