hi i just got a new white macbook. It came with two restore dvds. one for osx and the other for applications. If i put in a new hard drive will i be able to install osx from the restore dvd or will i need a copy of a legit Mac OSX 10.5.x dvd. the guy at the apple store said the restore dvds will only work on this computer. i dont know if that means it will only work on the same hard drive or not. i plan on upgrading to a 320gb 7200 rpm.

    thanks.

yes, you can use the retore DVD that came with your MB to re-install OSX when you put in a new HDD. Your restore DVD will work on other MB like yours.

Sure. By same computer he meant same macintosh hardware. HD does can be replaced as well as RAm.

Does swapping HD's break warranty though?
