    hey guys,

i'm trying to connect my xbox 360 hd-dvd player to my alu mbp and connecting it to a plasma tv... using vista through boot camp, it works just fine on the macbook's screen, but i get hdcp content enforcement when i try to play it on the plasma using a mini-displayport to dvi adapter with a dvi to hdmi cable going to the tv. whats going on????? i thought mini-displayport was hdcp-enabled? when i run the bd-advisor from cyberlink it says that i have a digital connection thats not hdcp enabled. this is realllllllllly annoying... help!

iirc, doesnt the monitor as well have to be hdcp enabled?

Maybe by using all those cables, something gets missing in the process?

its a brand new 50" panny plasma, it definitely has hdcp. i'm guessing it probably has to do with the adapters... but im surprised, it should work fine. i hope someone can help me out, i don't want to be buying any more mDP cables... sometimes i hate you, jobs.

yea, i guess youll just have to wait till their is a mini-dp to hdmi adapter. Other then that, i dunno, all these drm schemes just end up screwing the consumer in the end run.

Could be that maybe it doesnt want to show the content on both screens at once? Maybe try closing the screen, and using external keyboard and mouse while connected to the tv and see if it will work then.

Just guessing here as I dont have any hdcp media.

yeah its definitely this DRM business getting in the way. i installed anydvd hd and it works fine now. silly media companies... all they are really doing is slowing down decryption of high def content by about a week by implementing these "rules."
