This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    If I wanted to order a replacement keyboard? Not send the macbook in under warranty, not take it in to a shop somewhere, just buy a replacement keyboard. Can you even do that?

    you can check ebay for all kind of replacements, IF apple doesn't sell those (but I think they would), just drop them a mail
    also check chinese online stores, they sell all kinda fakes :)

    Apple keyboards (like most Apple things) are proprietary, so I can't imagine how you'd be able to find a replacement other than through Apple. I have been hearing about a lot of Macbooks being stolen and taken in to chop shops though... :p

    Don't bother with some third-party reseller when it comes to the keyboard; just send it in to Apple and they'll take care of it.
