    im looking for a G4 powerbook, either in 15 or 17" variaties. dont mind how much ram it has but want a nice big hd. for photo editing mostly.

    Apple does not manufacture Powerbooks anymore..Perhaps you can try eBay or some places that might sell them used.

    Photo editing really relies on RAM...especially Photoshop (the standard for photo editing). You will want at least 1 GB of RAM, 2 GB preferably.

    I'd say get a MacBook, or a refurbished MBP, and if you want a higher resolution connect it to an external display.

    Yeah I agree with Sam, I do a bit of editting with my macbook and I really wish it had 2 Gb's.

    Yep, RAM is very important. I would rank Processor speed as second, so a MB or MBP would be a better pick than the Powerbook for your needs.

    I know ram is important, however I have access to RAM here, i can put it in myself, im just looking for a G4 1.5g processor with a big HD. to save some money. Its only going to be used as a secondary machine. I have DV9000 HP as my primary notebook plus a rockin desktop too, the powerbook is more of a playtoy/a something different machine. but i need a good sized hd, 1.5g processor and either the 15" or 17" sized notebook. I guess it will be ebay, however they are highly over priced most times.
