Im new to macs and would like to run vista on my mbp using bootcamp. How easy is this to set up? Does it go smooth our should I expect a snag along the way? I have read the set up manual from apple and it seems simple but I wanted your opinion. thnxs :)

It is pretty easy. Not harder then a normal vista setup. You just have to follow the Boot Camp instructions.

I'm interested in doing the same thing as you are doing when I get my MBP. From what I understand the process is relatively painless as long as you have a full version of the install. Feel free to come back and report your results, it looks like you might have the new 7200 rpm drive as well as 4GB of memory. I am really interested to see how that all performs. :D

It's really easy if you follow Apple's guide. Make sure to use a Full 32-Bit version of Vista. Some people have gotten 64-Bit Vista to work, but there some other issues and additional drivers needed.

The only issues I've had can be read in the thread Boot Camp 1.3 & Vista Ultimate x86 Problems.

Those problems are minor and were mostly fixed with EasyBCD 1.6. Except in Vista you still need to disconnect/reconnect the MagSafe plug in order for Windows to recognize the adapter (although your computer is running on AC regardless).

Setting up Vista 32 bit was pretty easy...as others have mentioned...just make sure you have a FULL version of Vista 32-bit. Also, its important you select the right partition...but that shouldn't be a problem as the bootcamp instructions go over that.

You should know that bootcamp is still in beta form and there are still a few quirks that need to be worked out...some stuff like tap-clicking on the touchpad I have not been able to get to work in Vista.
