I have a friend whose schedule I need to be able to access (we are in2 different locations). He uses iCal and when I am on my Mac at work I have no trouble viewing his schedule.
But at home I have only PCs.
Is there a way to view his iCal schedule on my PC?

iCal can save/export calendars into the .ics format. If your using Windows Vista, Windows Calendar supports this format for calendars too.

Microsoft Office Outlook also supports the .ics format, along with Mozilla Sunbird.

Here's how to export your calendars:

    1. Open iCal.
    2. Select the calendar you want to export from the Calendars list.
    3. From the File menu, choose Export.
    4. Type a filename in the field when prompted.
    5. Click Export.

Find where you saved the file and send it (via e-mail, thumb drive, etc.) to your Windows machine.

You'll have to import the file into the calendaring program you chose for Windows. This can usually be found under the File menu-Import

*If his schedule will change frequently, you may want to ask him to switch to something that stays updated, and that both of you can access like Google Calendar. This is because you'll have to repeat the calendar export process in iCal each time his schedule changes.* There are plenty of resources online that show you how to import the iCal calendar into Google Calendar. :)

There's a much simpler way of handling this. Anyone on any computer can view your iCal schedule with just 2 steps.

Open iCal (not step number 1)

    (1) Right-click on the calendar in question and choose "Publish". A message will appear telling you your calendar is published for viewing or emailing.
    (2) Choose email and send it to anyone. They just click on the link and they will view your calendar on the web.

From there they can download or subscribe to your calendar.

Oops, Edit: This only applies if you have dotmac, mobileme or an FTP server.
