    >_<

ok... my makbook is falling apart. feels like an old truck! display acting up, speakers acting up, and now that i'm thinking about it... nothing else is wrong with it!

anyhow, i've just placed an order for the new macbook 2.0ghz with 4gb ram.

will i notice big difference in performance and stability? will it heat as much or did they fix this? is it lighter or heavier? is the display improved (quality or resolution) or is it the same? will i have better stability on vista?

my current macbook is 1.83Ghz, 2 gig ram, and 160gb hdd. and here is an older thread with the problems i had with it if interested.

Not much of an upgrade, but it won't be jacked up I guess.

Display resolution is the same, the quality should be improved as the displays are LED-backlit so you should definitely feel an increase in brightness. You will notice a difference in performance but I doubt you will see any big change if you're not looking for them. Normal computing will be about the same, if you're say encoding video you'll see the time needed is less now. The new AluMacBook is lighter by about half a pound! :)

Better VGA and lighter weight perhaps are two most important things.

The main difference, besides the brighter LED display, is the GPU performance.

If you are using CS4, video editing, games or any other GPU accelerated application performance will increase a lot, in some cases a factor 4.

Playing 1080p videos (avi, mkv, mov etc) will now be easy with a low CPU utilization.
