I have a Toshiba 1TB USB3.0 drive. It wouldn't even power up when connected to my MBP13. After I applied this update, the drive will spin up with the blue power light lit, and in system USB info it shows a Toshiba drive plugged in under USB3.0, but the OS will not read the drive at all, doesn't even show up in disk utility.

So, maybe the next update Apple will allow me to power up AND use this drive

Or you can just give it enough power.

Yeah, by plugging it into every other computer and laptop I have. The ONLY laptop that can't run this drive is the MBP, both 2011 and 2012 versions.
