    Hi,
Im interested in purchasing a laptop and feel mac might be right. The ibook G4 14' seems what i want, but i have some trepidation as it has been on the market a long time. Also, i recently had a IBM T43 which was intolerable due to fan noise. Can anyone give me their opinions on the ibook G4 14' - should i go for it or wait for a 14' laptop with the new processors?
    Thanks a ton

Hell no! Wait for the Intel version.

Well, to put it quite bluntly, I agree. Wait for the Intel version - it will be far superior to the G4 iBook that's currently out.

If you don't want to wait or don't have the money, or both, then go for the iBook G4. I think I'm going to get an iBook G4, b/c I know it works, w/ the intel macs they are still working out the problems w/ compatibility and such. Plus I think the Macbooks are a bit too overpriced for me. I like the price of the iBook's minimum setup, and that's all I need.

Definitely wait it out. Go for the purchase when the 14" macs are updated to the Intel CPUs.

If you want more portability, the 13" Intel iBook will make a nice choice too.
