    Hi guys!

I was wondering how can I make an entire disk image to back it up, and then restore my OS keeping the same configs???

Problem is I did a triple boot, but I do not want linux on my machine. I never use it and it takes space which I could use it better on OSX.

I'm buying an external HD in order to make it easyer and to have massive space for downloads and so on. Thanks a lot.

well, yeah, i think im using SuperDuper cause it has got bootable backups. A lot easyer than non bootable. Another question, is there a way to partition a disk in 2 (HFS+ to backup my mac and FAT32 for storage on more OS) ??? Should I use Mac's Disk Util or should I format from Windows? thanks

Oh and another thing, Is USB 2.0 boot fully supported to be booted from in macbook?? I was wondering If I should get an USB 2 or a Firewire. Will usb2.0 run at full speed? thanks

You want to take you current disk and make a Fat32 partition?
Best way to do that is use bootcamp.

Get FW. I don't feel that USB 2.0 is bad, and in windows I don't notice much of a difference between FW and USB 2. In OS X though, it seems like there is a major difference. Could just be my imagination, but I swear it's a hell of a lot faster.

BTW, there are several external cases that have both FW and USB 2.

yep! I've got one! its a FW+USB 2.0 case with a 250 hd :) the thing is... I can't access from windows with HFS+!!!! What can I use?? I mean, fat32 sucks cause of the file limitation

Just get MacDrive and put it on your Windows machine and leave the external to HFS+. The MacDrive will allow you to read and write from the HFS+ drive now. I wish I known this eariler back when I got my drive, however I already got close to 68% of the drive fillled (I have 250GB) and don't have another HDD of that capacity to temp hold it.

    SuperDuper!
    RsyncX
    Carbon Copy Cloner
    Psync

I have all 4 on my system because i have yet to find one that does EVERYTHING i want. Back up some directories to a FAT drive. Clone entire disk. Only update changed files.

So far my favorite is RsyncX but i get error'd out sometimes so if anyone has better info on good tools then share it.

I use SuperDuper! and it is only like 25 or 30. That is chea for piece of mind. There are some things you just don't skimp on, backing up is one of them.
