Hey guys, just got a macbook pro and immediately tried installing smcfancontrol as I've lurked around these forums for awhile and heard a lot about it. Anyway, I downloaded the zip file, extracted and installed it (dragged the executable from the extracted zip file to my applications folder) and ran it. Nothing comes up though. I see it running in the process monitor but there is no interface window or widget on my dashboard.

Am I doing it wrong? Appreciate any help you folks can provide.

take a look at the top right of your screen where your clock and other things reside, there should have come up something that says 2000rpm. :)
