Is it just me, or is the performance of the CS3 UI a little underwhelming?

Using Photoshop is kinda painful. The menus take a couple of seconds to pop out, changing tools is kinda sluggish, selecting layers is sluggish, stuff like that.

This is with say 900x900 images at 72dpi. Pretty simple stuff.

Anyone else think they notice this?

I've never been a huge fan of the responsiveness of the OSX UI and apps, but, this is a little worse than normal.

It is a real CS3 Suite, not a crack.

FWIW, I'm also driving an external 17" DVI monitor at 1280x1024.
