    hello all,

i have a 13 inch macbook pro and the latch cut-out area has cut my finger... yes, thats right, it has extracted blood from my index finger. I thought that the edges on the latch area where sharp but this is ridiculous. I want to call up Apple and complain about this. Any of you ever had any issues with this? Look at your aluminum macbook and see how sharp those two points are where the opening lid latch is and you will see what i am talking about.

It should be easy to fix. Get yourself a hammer.

It's aluminum. Just hit the sharp edge a few times. Case closed.

Seriously, if a laptop can kick your a$$ and draw blood, it's probably best you just lock yourself indoors because the world outside is a rough place and you won't stand a chance otherwise.

Just in case anyone is dumb enough to try this - and I wouldn't put it past some of you - The hard surface anodising is the only thing that is preventing the soft aluminium underneath not wholly being... well, soft aluminium.

An industrious filing may lead to corrosion and worse of the metal.

I find the sharp edges the bane of my Apple portable life (although never an injury causing issue), but you're dealing with a case of total form over function, especially in the latest unibody guise. It's not going to change. If it draws blood, perhaps it's worth taking to an Apple Store and see how they'll make you happy again.

Thanks for the warning vogel I should have said that as well as I HAD someone file some of the edges and destroyed the structure ... it all cracked afterwards
