    Im running safari with 7 tabs and the memory is going about 480mb. Is this normal?

    safari does use a lot of memory. It is good to completely quit it once in a while to release the ram.

    I used firefox and the highest it went to was about 180mb. Im using the addon for safari called youtube5. It might be the reason why the ram is so high. Also I do not have flash installed so I think that is also why firefox does not use a lot of ram.
