This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     If I were to reformat a Mac, would I loose any of its software? I heard you can't install iLife yourself.

    You will have to reinstall everything if you choose to reformat. All the default OS X applications can be found on the OS X installation DVD.
