what can i use to play real player video on OS X? i would like one that is preferably free. is the one from real.com under "RealPlayer for Mac OS X - Free Download" really free? as in no nagware, that ask you to register or something?

is there a plugin so that i can play .rm (real media file) on quicktime?

    any recomendation?

Realplayer basic is free. I don't remember it being too naggy in the form of advertisements, but you do get a lot of popups asking you to upgrade to RealPlayer Plus and free trial subscriptions and all that - or whatever the pay service is called now. It is kind of bloated, annoying, and pretty much a horrible media player.

It's still arguably the best at playing its own files though (.rm, rma etc)...of course, I personally think those formats suck too..but apparently a huge percentage of the world (the entire Eastern Hemisphere apparently) disagrees with me :p

Real Player is probably one of the worst "Free" players out there ! First you have to wade through literally thousands of screens on the web page to avoid downloading Real One and god knows what other subscription schemes that they have. Then it keeps bombarding you with "upgrade offers" !! If only mPlayer or VLC played real format files.
