    1. Is it easy to install bootcamp without screwing somethin up, or should i take it to some sort of computer store to be done? (i have no serious computer programming experience, but the online instructions seem simple)

    2. if i want to transfer word documents from mac os x to windows xp and vice versa, will i need office for both windows and OS X? Or would it be only necessary to get office for mac? (I am asking this because I might want to transfer word documents from my old PC)

    3. Black or white ipod with my macbook pro purchase?

    Thanks for the help

    1. It is very easy to install, just follow the directions.
    2. If you format the Windows partion in FAT32 it will allow both OS's to read/write. You will still need Office on both partitions. (Or something that can edit and save .doc files, I think the only reliable thing for this is Office, but I could be wrong.)
    3. Black looks cool, but scratches easily. I say white.

Well, if you are just transfering docs from your old PC to OS X, you can go straight from one to the other, put the docs on a USB key or burn them on a CD would be easiest and most straight forward, and if you have office for mac you can do everything you can do on XP to the docs

    1) As cashmonee said, just follow the instructions.
    2) I think you will be fine with just Office for Mac OS X really. The file formats are the same. OpenOffice (if you install X11) is likely to be able to read Office documents also if you don't want to buy Office.
    3) Black looks better - personal opinion. :)
