i want to start off this thread saying i really like front row. presentation wise. however mine is freezing up every-time i use it. its gotten so bad that no short short keys work (not even apple option esc) i actually have to do hard shutdowns. this is pretty disappointing.

Weird. Is that on a fresh install?

do you have any addons for front row (like codecs)?

Whats really disappointing... you can't have front row on a 2nd screen while doing other stuff on your primary. It will black out the other screen. Super Lame.

That's awkward, its not supposed to lag up so easily. Have you tried all the troubleshooting?

I almost feel dirty suggesting such a standard response but...

have you tried verifying/repairing your disk permissions?

Also: has front row EVER worked, or have you had this problem from day one?

Go to ~/Library/Preferences and delete com.apple.frontrow.plist. (~ means your home folder)
If that doesn't fix Front Row, you could try deleting Front Row.app in /Applications/, and then re-installing it from the OS X installation disc.

im just trying to play standard mp3 files. i will try budding's idea.

EDIT: That file is not in that folder. i guess i will try renistalling front row. i just started using FR today i have had the mac for a few months now. prior to this i only used FR for like 5 minutes but i did not notice any problems. i ran disk permissons and got this hundreds of errors like this:

    Verify permissions for “Macintosh HD

ACL found but not expected on "System/Library/User Template/English.lproj/Sites".

imagine that x 1000 but different things

    Permissions verification complete

i repaired the disk but im still getting those permission errors^

look under the root folder, for the library/ then the same as what "budding "suggested.

i think app stuff is not in the user folder structure but in the root library folder.
