Yall know when you click on the battery icon and then it lists the battery saver, normal, better preformance list. well mine has disappeared. anyone know how to get that to come back? I hate going into energy saver options just to change stuff around. ok well thanks guys.

It should appear in the Taskbar Notification area once you restart - it's one of Vista's default Taskbar icons.

Start - Control Panel - Power Options to get to the Power Options if you need to.

It's possible your Notification Area icons have been affected somehow - to check and reset them:

    1. Right click on the Taskbar (black line at the bottom of the screen).
    2. Click on Properties.
    3. Click on the Notification Area Tab.
    4. The Notification Area Icons are listed there - the Power Options icon is probably unchecked. Check it, then click Apply, then OK.

    Simple fix.
Go to Hard Drive-System-Library-Coreservices-Menu Extras. Then, find battery.menu, and drag it up to where you want it on the menu bar.
This is from memory, so the directories might not be exact, but you're definitely looking for a folder called Menu Extras.
