My macbook power adapter just died and I dont want to pay $80 for a replacement. Ive only had my macbook for about 4 months and its still under warranty. What can I say for the apple store to give me a replacement for free?

Tell them that your adapter has died? What do you want to tell them?
Unless you are very unlucky, you will just get a new replacement from the Apple Genius Bar. Unless you actually smashed your adapter into bits or something.

well I went earlier today before I made a appointment and the guy was pretty much like most likely you will have to buy a new one because theres a cut near the plug in. I told him I didnt do it and it happened naturally but he said I've had my adapter for..... and it never happened to me. I went on the apple site and the adapter gets horrible ratings with many people saying that its faulty, overheats and describing the same things that happened to me. So I was wondering what can I say if they say something like you did it yourself.
