i just found the specs on the 8600m and seen it was severly underclocked from nvidias settings. was wondering if it is possible to overclock them in either osx or vista. if not i cant justify spending the extra money on a mac when for 500 cheaper i can get a more powerful computer with same specs

    Hey peeps,
NVidia's hardware can be overclocked in Windows Vista. I use nTune, which they make, to tweak my desktop and laptop. No MacOS support, though...

Note: If you don't use an NVidia chipset i.e. macs, then you wont see chipset tweaking options but you will see graphics tweaking stuff for GPU/VRAM. Even my abysmal integrated graphics (GeForce 6150) can be overclocked. Like I said, it definitely works in vista, but there is no support for MacOS, period.

    Hope this helps.

Are there overheating problems when you overclock it? I am also interested in overclocking it. M2:TW tends to lag at high settings.
