    well...

    ordered it

    here are my thoughts

    pro
fastest laptop for size on market right now
    always wanted a mac

    con
omg was it expensive compared to other computers that are very close to its performance

so... 2 pros vs 1 con
the pros have it so I am happy.

    the laptop
basic MBP 15.4 with the 256 mb 8600 and glossy screen, everything is stock + 3 year warranty, I was bugging ya all about the warranty but well. heck 238 for 3 years total and my luck at my 1.5 year mark the cpu would catch fire :p

anyways it should be here latest by aug 14

    nice buy!

it's expensive, but you really do get what you pay for. the mbp "feels" very expensive, or maybe that's just my imagination. even though the construction is top notch, it feels so fragile compared to my old 700m.

Well, my 700m has been tossed around and is "plastic" so I feel like If I were to bump and bang it into something nothing will happen. The mbp looks and feels super expensive, so psychologically, I'm like "woah, careful around this thing!".

It's funny too, I was worried about the mbp being so much bigger, yet the two laptops are the exact same depth, the mbp being way thinner and a bit wider (duh).

Really? Isn't the MBP about an inch deeper than the 700m?

Not if the 700m has the extended battery. Would you like some comparison pics?

Congrats! Everytime there is a post like this proclaiming another macbook pro purchase, I am tempted to order mine. My 500m refuses to die just yet, it's still running smooth. Regardless, I will be getting a mbp around the holidays.

My D420 is running great too, and it's practically brand new... but for some odd reason I'm being drawn to the Mac.
