Yeah, very careless of me. Had a coffee in one hand, 2 textbooks and my macbook pro in the other going up a flight of stairs. Didnt realize the computer was slipping until it was too late.

the top left corner hit the ground first. there is a large chip in that corner and some scratches all around. the case is kind of warped, as the lid shuts on an angle.

BUT...IT STILL WORKS!!! not sure what to do, as I dont have accidental warantee or anything like that. think i might just use it until school is over (2 weeks left) , then sell it for parts or as a damaged computer, and get a santa rosa based MBP...another mental excuse to buy a new computer..YESS

If it still works, why get rid of it? This is why I am a big fan of Metal cases.

im just scared there is somethinig wrong on the inside just waiting to fail. it may seem ok now, but who knows. i do alot of important stuff on it so I wouldnt want it to fail randomly. if i need to buy a new computer to keep my work safe then so be it.

    Heh, I did something similar.

and I've gotten it wet 2x. Once my fault, the other not my fault (ceiling leaked on it).

Well, the only "moving" part in there (besides the fans) is the hard drive. I doubt you've dislodged anything from the logic board with that drop.

Guys, don't ruin this into being OK. It's not! Your MBP sucks! It's broken, get a new one :) I know how it feels to want an excuse ;) You probably sub consiously dropped it on purpose. I wish my Mac mini was droppable, maybe I would get a MBP too.

Just kidding, sorry for your loss buddy.

If you could, I'd get it checked out but don't say you dropped it. Make up another excuse. Yeah, I know it's immoral but you don't want to see your $2k go down the drain.
