The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    You know what I noticed today when I was installing the latest MBP update from Apple.

    1. I didn't really need it, but it's nice to be able to enable journaling after partitioning now in general I guess.

    2. Why does apple call the boot drive the "Startup Disk"? I guess it makes sense sort of, but it always makes me think of an external boot disk. Ah it's the Windows user in me.

    3. Anyone ever notice how Apple always says "hold C to start up from the installer", but at least on my install disk, holding C boots up to OSX, and holding nothing boots into the installer?
