I got my macbook pro in october and im already noticing the finish wearing off my left palm rest area - this should not be happening this fast, are you guys' finishes wearing off too? and anything to do about this? its really pissing me off

So far so good, but I've only had mine for a little over a month. You can get protective covers for the palm rest to avoid it, but since it's been such a small amount of time try going to an apple store to see if they can repair it for you.

Different finishes will react differently to the natural oils in your hands (for that matter, different hands produce different amounts of oil and sweat). Generally, pretty finishes wear down a lot faster than utilitarian ones.

Just about to hit one year, and nothing like that on my MBP. Take it to Apple.

can they prove i have ****ty sweat / can they actually do anything about it..
the computer not my hands
EDIT: or for that matter is there anything I can do- what are those protective covers?
thanks for the replies -
Those protective covers are basically a layer/film of plastic or other material (depending on which one you get) that just lie on top of the palmrest... basically, it's like a sticker.
-
can anyone recommend one of these protective layers, all i can find are things on ebay not really sure if those are good. I dont want it to leave a residue behind either. any ideas?
