Hello all, I am not really a Mac user, but I am curious. I have heard that Apple has Macs that are not white. The colors I have heard about are blue, red, and green. I have never seen a Mac that was not white, and unless I am blind, I do not see a color option on the website. Does somebody care to offer any explanation? Thank you and goodnight.

what Macs are white? the Macbook (which isn't sold any more)? the rest are all silver... and most have been silver for many years.
There are 3rd party companies that will color them, or skins you can get... but Apple doesn't do any color options on Macs... but none of them are white anyways. -

Micro Center has the early-2011 models on clearance. IMO, these are more desirable than the current base 15-inch model. Early 2011 15s have a 1 GB Radeon 6750 GPU; late 2011s only have 512 MB of VRAM. You have to upgrade to the much more expensive model to get a 1 GB GPU. The 2.2 GHz, 1440x900 glossy screen is $1599. The 2.3 GHz, 1680x1050 matte version is $100 more. Amazon also is selling used versions of the former machine for a bit less than $1400.
Details here. -
The main white Macbook is not even made anymore and hasn't been for a while now. That single model is the only thing they have had for years that was white... since the last iMac design change. -
I liked the black macbook they had for a short period of time!

The original iMacs (with CRTs) and iBooks came in various fruity colors, that may be what you're thinking of.

I am surprised they did away with the black MacBook (or BlackBook as many people called them). I believe it carried a $150 higher price just for the color change compared to a standard MacBook with the same configuration but I have come across them quite a bit. I still see people using them and not wanting to give their BlackBooks up because they look so different from Apple's standard stock.
I could imagine a black aluminum 13" MacBook Pro, that would be really nice but Apple seems intent with their current standard anodized aluminum look. Its a shame really as many companies are now using similar colors with their notebooks, it would be nice if Apple broke away from their norm to make something like this again (even though they started out making grey and black notebooks. -
yeah I really wanted a blackbook during college, but I couldn't justify the extra 150 for just a different color, but the white ones would get so dirty so fast. And I just thought it looked nice. An anodized black MBP would be sweet.

The BlackBook is my favorite. Since I revived it I've given it to my daughter to use

However, I suspect that Apple will stick with just the aluminum for a while now. It's become part of their aesthetic brand identity, and I suspect it'll take a lot for them to branch away from that. -
I think the Macs that the OP is thinking of are the old clamshell iBooks and the G3 iMacs. Nowadays, the only color available for any Mac is silver. I personally think that if Apple were to release a black MacBook Pro, they would move quite a few units. Just imagine a current 17" MacBook Pro, but in black. That would look awesome and possibly a little intimidating.

That is about the only thing that can take me away from my current MBP. If Apple were to release an anodized aluminum (or liquid metal, but I don't think we are at that point yet) MBA that was black and similar looking to the iPod classic, I would be forced to buy it. That would be a real looker especially if they give it a unibody design again (something competitors are still having a hard time with). I would gladly plop down $1600 for a 13" black MBA and that would replace my 13" MBP (which would likely be put up for sale).
