    http://www.anandtech.com/show/9268/apple-announces-2015-15-retina-macbook-pro-cheaper-27-retina-imac

    - 27" iMac is now only available as 5K Retina, with a $1999 base model. Higher spec prices drop $200 (nice). This likely means the 5K won't get any kind of serious hardware refresh until end-of-year (not so nice).

    - 15" MacBook Pro Retina gets Force Trackpad, AMD M370X graphics, and 4x PCIe storage. That's.. it. Same processor, same everything else. I assume Apple got tired of waiting for that mobile Broadwell quad-core.

    All are available -right now-.

I think that there are a lot of disappointed prospective buyers that wanted Broadwell.

I started playing around with AVX-2 today - it's nice to play around with this powerful instruction set. I think that AVX-512 is coming in Skylake but for Xeon only and may make it into consumer chips with Cannonlake. AVX-2 will have to keep me happy for now though.

Looks like Apple will be waiting for Skylake before making any major revisions to the MacBook Pro. I am glad to see they're keeping a model with a discreet GPU in the lineup, though I still believe it's possible they will drop it entirely when Skylake arrives.

I'd like a Knight's Corner or Knight's Landing GPU with a MacBook Pro.
