is the new mbp 13 battery compatible with the mid-late 2009 mbp 13?? my mbp 13's battery only last bit more than 4 hour on typical mobile use. the new mbp 13's battery advertised it will last 10 hr so i think i will probably at least last more than 6 hour in real life...

Your battery is a 58 W/Hr Li-Poly, and the newest 13" rendition is a 63.5 W/Hr Li-Poly. That represents a 9 1/2% increase in capacity. However, the new notebook runs over 42% longer than the previous model (according to Apple - 10 hours versus 7). Clearly, the increase in run-time is primarily due to efficiencies apart from the battery capacity itself. The computer itself is drawing less wattage.
According to iFixit, the new battery should be compatible with your unit. However, your expectations may well exceed the reality of doing so without the necessity of doing so because your old battery being a "dead" player.
If your battery is in good health, and if you are getting 4 hours now, all other things being equal, the new battery will yield around 4 hours plus 25 minutes. -
on your signature you have the 320m mbp 13, have you ever tested how long your laptop last unplugged?

I bought my system for pure enjoyment, so I don't turn down anything. Full brightness, HDD always spinning and at the ready, etc. The only thing I have turned off is Bluetooth, most of the time. With my new system I have yet to be put in a situation where I actually needed to conserve power due to lack of AC power at hand. I suppose I ought to try it, just for the knowledge of being ready though.
Mine runs 4 - 5 hours on a charge. My older MB Unibody gets around 2 1/2 hours under the same conditions. I've never done a "controlled" test on either though. -
I get about 5-6 hours out of mine, but I live in the dark o the screen brightness is lower most of that time; counts for quite a bit.
