I was thinking about getting this 1 TB Western Digital My Book World Edition II network hard drive. My question is how much access will my new MBP have to it? I have two desktops and the MBP, the two desktops are vista machines and the MBP is bootcamped with vista and OS X.

I am wondering if I will be able to see and use the files(mainly videos, music, pictures) that are on the network drive from OS X?

And also would I be able to save stuff from OS X to the network drive?

    thanks!

As a network drive, it should work fine, but you won't likely get the software benefits such as automatic backup. It's just a drive with ethernet so you should be able to see it just as you would any other shared drive.

**EDIT** Here is an article from MacNN that indicates it will work:

The WD site says XP is required, but like I said, that is probably only for their software, not the drive.
