The MBP 13" only has Intel HD 3000 graphics. While having a Core i5 or Core i7 (if available in the 13" model) may help in the performance of the game, you would most likely have to run the game on the lowest settings for it to run smoothly. This is how it was on my old Toshiba which had a Core i3-2310M, 4GB DDR3, Windows 7 Home Premium x64, and Intel HD 3000 graphics. I was able to run the game at the system's native 1366x768 resolution, but all of the graphical effects had to be turned down to minimum. But also, as Rodster said, why not play it on the Alienware desktop in your sig?

The reason is because when im away from my alienware desktop on the go and i have some time to spare i would like to have this game to play on my laptop. Other than that i would be playing on my desktop. So datamonger youre saying you played swtor decently with a core i3 and intel hd 3000?

I have an 09 MBP with 9400m and play SWTOR with ~30 fps on low, 800x600, windowed. Get lag initially and the game takes forever to load and be playable. Cantinas make me lag like no other. I am level 32 though and it really isn't that bad.

and a HD 3000 is considerably faster than a 9400m... I've found that SWTOR doesn't need much horsepower. I play it through Parallels and it runs fine, but my machine is beefy enough for the virtual machine to be a decent lower end machine.

I think you won't have a good experience, given your background. There's nothing like playing a game with decent fidelity at high frame rate, and then switching everything to low/off, dropping resolution to below native, and then bouncing around 20-30 frames per second.

It might start up, but it's not going to run good.

I play SWTOR on my MBP 15 - 2010 w/ gt330 and 2.66 Processor and still experience a decent amount of lag
