For the Windows portion, I suggest getting anti-virus/anti-spyware software, such as Norton Anti-Virus or Zone Alarm and Ad-Aware or SpySweeper for Spyware.

I use AVG in conjunction with NetVeda's SafetyNet firewall. I find ZoneAlarm can be goofy sometimes. I would also suggest using an internet browser that is not Internet Explorer and getting our mail on Yahoo, MSN, Gmail, etc. I almost never get spyware or viruses, the occasional bad cookie.

i agree with darrensen to NOT use nortons products. they are not as good as others available. plus seriously take up system resources, and a real pain to unistall.

I would just make sure the Windows partition is up to date and then not use Windows to surf the internet.

Yeah, I'd try to keep all of your productivity with the Apple side - much easier to use IMO. Windows is nice for compatability and playing games though.

which is what im thinking of doing..

question, do u need to install an antivirus for the mac side? i know os x is safe safe safe.. but im a noob in mac, who's thinking of crssing over.

im not swayed completely yet, but dealer is readily offering to throw in an extra software package other than the ones installed, including the mac office. any other stuff that i shud be looking into? :p teeheehee

I would say no - I'd just get anti-virus for the Windows partition.
