I recently bought a used 17 inch Macbook Pro. Some of my software won't run on a Mac and I already had Word 2007 for Windows, so I installed Windows 7. Everything works fine except the mouse. Often I have to click several times bofore, e.g., something will open. I seem to recall a thread about this but have not found it. Could someone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Did you install the bootcamp drivers?

Well, lt me put it this way. I put the Snowleapord disc in and folowed the instructions. I assume it installed the correct drivers.

Have you updated to the latest version of bootcamp? 3.1 i think

Also did the snow leopard disc you have come out after your mac was released? If it came out before, it will not have all the correct drivers on it.

you don't have the proper driver. What i did befor was insert my snow leopard cd and install the drivers on the windows. However, my mouse problem involved it being to sensitive meaning it would randomly open applications and stuff. Windows is not meant to be perfect on a mac via bootcamp, so if nothing is working, you just have to cope with it.

Well, it turns out I was using the mouse incorrectly. I am used to a Windows mouse, pushing the left and right side. With Apple mice, as I learned today from an Apple Store genius, you push the lower bottom. Since I have been doing this, no problems (though limited usage).

you can configure tap to click... you don't need to click it down at all then.

the pad physical button is hinged at the top, so yes, its easier to push at the bottom than the top...

    if you configure it right:
1 finger tap is left click.. 2 finger tap is right click...
1 finger click it left click... 2 finger click is right click...
click and hold with one finger and move with another finger for drag and drop.
